Space and arrival

Measure total RV length including hitch, plus width and height; confirm the assigned stall and door clearances.Check entry turns, lane width, pull-through/back-in layout, surface material, drainage, soft spots and any weight restrictions. Confirm permitted jack pads or supports.Confirm the actual RV yard entrance, assigned space, drop-off appointment and check-in contact.

Storage protection and services

Confirm outdoor, covered or enclosed storage; do not assume indoor means heated.For heated storage, ask what temperature is maintained and what happens during a power failure.Ask about electricity, charging rules, approved cords, and fees for power, dump stations, wash bays and water. Confirm seasonal shutoffs and service hours.Confirm rules for covers, propane, batteries, repairs, pest prevention and preparation before arrival.

Access and winter conditions

Record customer gate hours separately from office hours; ask about after-hours entry.Ask about retrieval notice, valet movement, mid-season visits and pickup fees.Confirm snow clearing, storm closures, thaw conditions and whether access is guaranteed.Ask who inspects the RV after storms, reports leaks or damage, and contacts you in an emergency.

Security and insurance

Inspect the fence, gate, lighting and cameras; ask whether cameras are recorded or actively monitored.Ask about personal gate codes, recording retention, live camera monitoring and staff or patrol hours. Ask who can move the RV, how keys are stored and how incidents are handled.Read contract liability limits and theft/damage exclusions. Ask your insurer about storage coverage and required precautions; confirm any mandatory operator coverage.Photograph the RV condition, contents and assigned space; retain the agreement and operator contact.

Quote and contract

Record rent and billing period: calendar month, 28 days, fixed season or annual prepayment.Record taxes, administration fees, power, insurance, access fees and any refundable deposit.Confirm minimum commitment, promotion expiry, renewal increases, refunds and cancellation notice.Get RV-specific fit, exact dates, all-in cost and special promises in writing before paying.

Before drop-off

Remove food, rubbish and wet items; clean/dry the refrigerator and use its approved storage-door position.Arrange the exact RV plumbing winterization; do not rely on tank draining alone.Confirm battery-specific storage/charging and any engine-approved fuel treatment; observe cold-charge limits.Check leaks, approved ventilation and cover/tire protection; arrange pest checks without blocking required vents.Keep documents, agreement and valuables securely off-site; retain keys and document any required operator key handover.

Pickup and final decision

Confirm spring pickup date, notice requirements, yard condition and any balance due.Plan inspection and return-to-service work before driving; use your RV and equipment manuals.Resolve missing answers before booking; compare total cost alongside access, protection and fit.
