Parking an RV at home in Regina
Regina's rules, from the city's RV brochure (October 2021, under Traffic Bylaw No. 9900):
- Front driveway: an RV must be at least 2.0 m (6.5 ft) from the back of the sidewalk, or from the back of the curb where there is no sidewalk. Parking on the lawn or other parts of the front yard is prohibited.
- Winter, November 1 to April 1: certain RVs are not allowed in the front yard, including on driveways. The brochure lists motorhomes, travel trailers, fifth wheels, tent trailers, truck campers and boats. One line of the brochure says the seasonal restriction applies to all types of recreational vehicles, so check the official bylaw for your unit.
- Street: an RV can be on the street for no more than 24 hours, except on Saturdays, Sundays and statutory holidays.
- Side and rear yard: allowed, if the property stays within the limit of two RVs in total, and any unlicensed RV can start and move under its own power.
- Unlicensed vehicles, including RVs, cannot be parked on city property, which includes the strip between your property line and the sidewalk or curb.
