Parking an RV at home in Saskatoon
Saskatoon is one of the more flexible cities for parking an RV at home:
- Driveway and front yard: an RV may be parked almost anywhere on a residential property, including the front driveway, at any time of year. It must be on a hard surface and at least 1.2 m (4 ft) from the inside of the front sidewalk (Zoning Bylaw 8770, section 5.17(4)).
- Street, unhitched or self-propelled: up to 36 hours, then it must be moved off the street for 48 hours (Traffic Bylaw 7200, section 21). Unhitched RVs must have the front and rear tire on one side chocked.
- Street, attached to a tow vehicle: if the combined length is over 6 m it counts as an over-length vehicle and can park on the street for only one hour.
- Placement: not within 1 m of a driveway, and not blocking a fire hydrant.
- The city says no permit is needed to park an RV at home.
